Featured Rescue

Every 4-6 weeks, we will select a rescue that will be featured on this site and promoted on our Facebook page. At the end of that period, Devil Dog Pet Co. will make a donation to that featured rescue.

We stand firmly behind the quote, "Adopt, don't shop!"

If you would like to see your local rescue featured, please send us an email to: info@DevilDogPetCo.com with their name, website, contact person and why they should be featured.

Below are all the wonderful organizations we have featured thus far. Please visit them on Facebook and 'like' their page.

Cartagena Paws is a small Non-For-Profit Organization that is committed to saving the lives of the countless street animals of Cartagena. We work daily to help spread awareness about animal rights and educate community members about compassion and empathy for animals. Cartagena Paws works hard to save the lives of injured animals along with conducting spay and release programs within the community. We also work hard on finding fosters for our rescues and forever homes.

Our Mission. To end canine cruelty and save lives.

Simple as that. Every day, every week, every year. Every city and county and state we operate within. Through enforcement and enrichment and intervention. We strive to make this a more humane world for the dogs we serve.

Our Dream: That no dog shall die in a shelter due to space or resource constraints.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of the dogs entrusted to our care. Our foster-based organization rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes dogs of all breeds, creeds, and needs, for that great last chapter they all deserve. Safe and Sound was established in 2016, but its director, volunteers and fosters collectively have a wealth of knowledge and experience in animal rescue, training and welfare.

Dogs in our care are pulled from overcrowded shelters, transferred from other rescues, abandoned or found as strays, or occasionally surrendered by their owners. They are thoroughly evaluated, receive necessary and preventative veterinary care, and are matched with a foster who can provide a safe and loving temporary home until the perfect forever home is secured.

STAR is a 501c3 non-profit foster-based animal rescue with a mission to becoming the leading champions for homeless and abandoned animals. Providing an array of services that include spaying, neutering, and providing appropriate medical care as needed, STAR is committed to using outreach initiatives and educational tools in order to enrich the local community. Working in conjunction with surrounding local rescues, STAR is dedicated to bettering the greater community, while saving lives one tail at a time.

STAR aims to be recognized as a major resource for homeless and abused animals in and around the state of Michigan. While bringing adoptable pets into our program for rehabilitation and re-homing, we also provide various services and resources to pet owners that encourage social responsibility and commitment to their pets, with the hope of reducing the homeless pet population. Here at STAR, we want to be a valuable resource to our local community and hold to the belief that one person can make a difference in the life of an animal in need.

This amazing rescue has a pAwesome mission statement:

To rescue dogs from high-kill shelters (across Michigan and Ohio) where they euthanize by gas or sell their dogs to research labs to be used for painful testing and experiments. Their rescued dogs are then placed into foster homes where they can interact with humans and other animals in an effort to make them adoptable. They hold a special place in their hearts for the big, black dogs, the not so pretty dogs, and senior dogs because they are often passed up in shelters everywhere for puppies, small breeds and the lighter colored “prettier” dogs.

It is the mission of Bark Nation to bring the Canine American welfare community together to put an end to the over-populated, over-euthanizing, over-ignorant, under-educated practices of the nation that we live in. It has never been, is not now, and never will be ‘okay’ to mistreat, neglect and dispose of the companion dogs that WE chose to domesticate in this way.

Through high-level collaboration and mutually beneficial relationships with veterinarians, trainers, suppliers and much more, we will raise funds and reduce costs necessary to champion local rescue groups, shelters and other animal welfare organizations to operate to their full potential, maximizing every dollar raised and every dollar spent.

Home FurEver is a non-profit, no-kill, foster based canine rescue that takes in all dog breeds. The group was
officially started in 2003 and has rescued, rehabilitated and re-homed almost 4,500 dogs and puppies. We do not discriminate against any dog or any breed; we give everyone a chance to live a normal healthy life.

Our dogs primarily come from the rough streets of Detroit. We find some as strays running the streets or in abandoned houses or automobiles. There are occasions when a dog rescued is in very poor health. Other groups may humanly euthanize the dog, but our dedicated vets do everything they can to save our dogs so they can start their lives over with a loving family.

Providing for Paws mission is to rescue neglected, abused and sick animals, or animals that have been displaced from their home. We frequently work in communities that have a high rate of stray animals, such as Detroit or Inkster for example. We are commonly in these areas and working to educate owners with animals in bad situations. We often find strays that come to us very neglected or abused, while working in these areas.

Our goal is to someday have no more abused, neglected or displaced animals.
